9,000 + Rock The NJ Marathon!

Many have called the NJ Marathon & Long Branch Half the greatest races in NJ and after seeing the reactions of runners and fans, this year’s event lived up to its high mark.

Cooler morning temperatures gave way to perfect running weather as 9,000 + runners towed the line at the Monmouth Park Racetrack. The runners carved their way through the streets of the Jersey Shore making their way to the oceanfront finish line in Long Branch. Race Director, Joe Gigas, referred to it as “The greatest finish line on the planet” and most would certainly agree.…

NJ Marathon Preview

It’s just a few days before the greatest race in New Jersey and we sat down with Joe Gigas, the Race Director for the NJ Marathon and the Long Branch Half. We’ve met a lot of people around the running world in our time, and no one has a greater passion for our sport than Joe. As much as he loves running, his enthusiasm for runners themselves, is equally remarkable.

RunAPalooza: 4 Great Races / 1 Perfect Event

Runners from far and wide descended on the friendly confines of Asbury Park this weekend for the legendary RunAPalooza event and it certainly did not disappoint. This race was flawlessly executed and was enjoyed by all of the 3500+ runners in attendance. Can’t Miss Event: “Running Joke” Fundraiser April 18th Run-A-Palooza Weeekend

As part of the Run-A-Palooza Festival in Asbury Park this Saturday, be sure to mark your calendar for the “Running Joke” fundraiser.

Runner/Comedian Angelo Gingerelli rounded up an amazing team of comics/runners to collectively run the 26.2 mile relay. Following the race, the group will perform at The Show Room in Downtown Asbury Park at 10 PM. The event was a rousing success last year in its inauguration and they plan on topping it this year. Perhaps more importantly, all proceeds go to a great cause in Special Olympics of NJ.

This Weekend’s RunAPalooza

This Saturday, April 18th, marks one of the best racing events in New Jersey… RunAPalooza!  Simply put… runners love this day.

The event is comprised of 3 different races: The Jersey Shore Marathon Relay, The Asbury Park Half Marathon & The Jersey Shore 5K!

RACE RECAP: Rutgers Unite Half Marathon

Shortly before 8 o’clock the race director announced (to an approximate field of 4,500 runners) that a call was received from “Grammy award winning Taylor Swift” letting him know that “she was not available to sing the national anthem for us today”.
