Jersey Athletes Excel At 2015 Special Olympics

Last year, New Jersey hosted the Special Olympics and we were fortunate enough to attend some events and meet several of the athletes. It was truly inspiring to get to know them and hear their stories. Watching them compete reminded us what sports are all about.

Sports should be all about people trying their absolute best to overcome obstacles, achieve their goals and enjoy themselves. Sports should not be about overinflated balls, fireworks accidents and trade deadlines.

As the 2015 games are underway in California, we want to wish the best of luck to all our Jersey athletes, especially the runners and triathletes, of course. You are truly inspiring to us all, so go make the Garden State proud!…

NJ’s Best Running Store Is Moving

…A few feet away that is.

Runner’s High, the Freehold-based running store, operated by local running guru (and all around good dude) Craig Segal, is expanding their surroundings.

Segal released this statement “We are proud to announce that we are officially expanding our shop to better serve the local running community! Thank you to our families, friends and supporters throughout the years – without you all Runner’s High would not be possible”.

We strongly encourage you to pop in and see those guys. They are extremely consultative and will answer any running question that you throw at them. Their expertise in picking out the right shoe and other equipment will save you discomfort and get you to your PR. A huge congrats to those guys on the milestone.

More info can be found here and tell them we at Runjersey sent you over.

US Women RUN All Over Japan!

We want to be the first (besides the President, thousands of celebrities & millions of fans) to congratulate the US Women’s Soccer Team on their World Cup Championship. It was truly inspiring to follow this team along their quest.

As always, NJ was represented well with killer performances along the way by Christie Rampone (Point Pleasant), Heather O’Reilly (East Brunswick) & Sunday’s stand-out Carli Lloyd (Delran).

We are tremendously proud of our team for representing the US with class and sportsmanship while they kicked some serious ass along the way. We all know that runners typically make phenomenal soccer players and vice-versa, so we applaud you efforts this summer “on the pitch”.
