The Founding Fathers
Charlie Hoffmann – A Sayreville native, got his degree in Recreation and Leisure Management from Coastal Carolina University. He has since been working in recreation in various NJ communities since college.
His favorite endeavor on the recreational front was teaching Couch to 5K, a class dedicated to newbies who want to get into running. Over the years, more than 150 of his participants trained for and completed their first 5k. He still runs regularly and is hoping to complete his 4th marathon in 2014.
He is admittedly slow, but claims to have more fun at a race than the thousands who run faster than he does.
Corey Wagner (@coreywagner33) a native of Rumson NJ, is our tech guru and trail running enthusiast.
Without him, RunJersey would still be just a rough wireframe on a napkin. He’s the first one Charlie calls at four in the morning when the site goes down.
Corey might be best known for his project Joinagame.com that he built from the ground up with long time friend Patrick Finan. “Being involved in a tech-heavy project that focuses on localism like Joinagame, getting involved with Run Jersey was a natural progression for me.”
If you need to get in touch with Corey, you’ll find him tweeting in Hartshorne Woods Park.
Patrick Finan of Sea Bright NJ, heads marketing and finance at Run Jersey.
Patrick is the primary voice-of-reason for the company. Without him, the website would likely feature Fantasy Demolition Derby commentary and sell Jelly Beans shaped like famous runners. Pat leads the discussions and somehow manages to keep the rest of the team on track.
Patrick is also the other half of Joinagame.com where he designs software to help locals organize pickup sporting events. “I love nothing more than helping my fellow neighbor stay active and in touch with the community. Run Jersey and Joinagame both allow me to do exactly that.”
