We were fortunate enough to have had a wonderful chat with Jen A. Miller, a fascinating NJ-based runner and author. Miller recently penned Running, A Love Story, an absolute must-read for any runner or running fan in New Jersey.
Jen certainly has an impressive resume. She had previously published The Jersey Shore: Atlantic City To Cape May to rave reviews and has also contributed to Runner’s World, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The New York Times, New Jersey Monthly and many more. She also exudes a true passion for the sport of running. “Running made my life better; Mind body and soul.” she explained to us as we chatted about her new book. She also added that “Running is what you make of it. You get what you put in.”
A self proclaimed “middle of the pack runner,” this book has a little bit of everything. It’s a funny, thought-provoking and inspirational story ideal for any athlete to enjoy. The legendary New Jersey Marathon (of 2013) plays host to this tale as she discusses all the ups-and-downs of her life while experiencing the ups-and-downs of a great race. Throughout her journey, Miller, a Collinswood native, reaffirms how running was her one constant go-to during tough times. The sport served as a reliable friend as she overcame relationship adversity, family tragedy and the struggles of life. Through clever wit and insight, Miller’s story will keep you thoroughly entertained.
We asked Jen who should read this book and she wisely informed us that it’s a perfect read for all…elite runners, middle of the packers (like us) and even non-runners. It’s a perfect summer read for you or the runner in your life.
